ENIOLA BADMUS BEGS FOR PEACE, BUT LAIDE BAKARE RESPONDS WITH TWO BRUTAL WORDS

Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has rejected a public apology from her colleague, Eniola Badmus, describing it as “fake” amid an escalating feud between the two actresses.

Bakare’s reaction came hours after Badmus apologised for her controversial facial expression and response when Bakare’s name was mentioned during an interview on the Curiosity Made Me Asked podcast.

The controversy erupted after a video from the interview circulated online, showing Badmus appearing to shrug and change her facial expression when the host, Isbae U, mentioned Bakare among his favourite actresses.

The reaction sparked widespread criticism on social media, prompting Bakare to accuse Badmus of repeatedly attempting to damage her reputation publicly.

In a furious Instagram post, Bakare described her colleague as a “nuisance” and questioned why she continued to make remarks she considered harmful to her image.

“Nuisance ni lady yi sha! Must you always damage my character publicly? Several times I have warned you to stop, but since you have decided to bring me down at all costs, you will surely hear from me,” she wrote.

Bakare also accused Badmus of ingratitude, claiming she had played a significant role in her colleague’s rise.

“See your facial expressions at the mention of your biggest benefactor’s name? Omo ale. That helped you to grow in life. Honestly, you are indeed an ingrate, and I won’t let this slide,” she added.

However, Badmus later took to Instagram to apologise, admitting that her reaction during the interview could have appeared dismissive.

“On reflection, I realise my reaction when Laide Bakare’s name was mentioned during my recent interview could have come across as dismissive, and for that, I sincerely apologise,” she wrote.

Addressing Bakare directly, Badmus said she preferred peace despite their differences, adding that she genuinely wished her colleague well.

“Laide, whatever our differences, I choose peace and I genuinely wish you well.

“We’re all growing, learning and becoming better versions of ourselves. Sometimes maturity is simply knowing when to let go and move forward.

“Joo maa binu (please don't be offended). No negativity. No grudges. Let love lead and peace reigns,” she added.

Despite the apology, Bakare remained unimpressed, dismissing it in a brief Instagram post with the words, “fake apology”.

Her response suggests that the public exchange has yet to bring an end to the disagreement between the two actresses, whose relationship has now become a subject of widespread discussion on social media.
